👋 Hey, welcome aboard!
No more staring into the fridge wondering what to cook tonight. Menu Planner helps your family plan a whole week of dinners in under 5 minutes — so you can spend more time actually enjoying them. The app is built around adding your own recipes, but we've got ready-made recipe packs you can use as a template or temporary solution in the meantime. Here's all you need to know:
1. 👨🍳 Add your family's own recipes
Click + Add Recipe to save your household favourites. They'll show up in future menus — just the way you like it.
2. 🗓️ Generate your week
Click Generate Menu in the top bar. Pick your categories, hit Generate, and just like that — your dinners are planned for the whole week!
3. 🔄 Not feeling it? Try again!
Regenerate as many times as you like — it's instant and free. The app remembers what you've had recently, so you always get good variety.
4. 🧅 Review your pantry list
Go to Settings → Pantry. We've pre-filled it with common household staples — look it over, remove anything you don't actually have, and add anything you do have that's missing. Everything listed here gets automatically greyed out on your shopping list, so you don't buy what you already have.
5. 🛒 Your shopping list is ready
Click Shopping List after generating your menu. Everything you need for the week, all in one place. At the very bottom of the list, you'll see what got filtered out because it's in your pantry — double-check you actually have it all before you head out. Take the list to the shops and enjoy your weekend.
6. 📦 Still need a hand? Use ready-made recipe packs
Go to Settings → Recipe Packs to quickly fill your household with dinner ideas — handy as a template or temporary solution while you add your own recipes (see step 1). Note: imported recipes are sized for a family of 4 — adjust quantities to match your household.
